SHIELDS FOR CHRIST is a non-profit Christian organization, focused on Public Safety professionals, their families, and their friend's spiritual needs! Originated by law enforcement personnel from the San Antonio Police Department, SHIELDS now also proudly includes various Police Officers, Deputy Sheriffs, State Police, Fire Fighters, EMS, Military, Health Care Providers, and folks from all walks of life within the South Texas area. Some of Texas' finest Christian Ministers also join SHIELDS FOR CHRIST at each monthly meeting. They share their passion, and biblical messages with all those who attend, and help us all to better understand God's word so that we can spread God's message to others. The SHIELDS FOR CHRIST logo was formed after Our President, Retired San Antonio Police Officer Lenny Paccione, recruited Bexar County Deputy Rick Olivares. Pastor Rick Olivares approached our Treasurer, Bexar County Deputy Larry Contreras, (both Bexar County Bailiffs at the time), to sketch out a symbol in the summer of 1985 that he had in his mind. That very same day The SHIELDS FOR CHRIST logo was drawn out in a Bexar County Court House while the court was in recess. The SHIELDS symbol has had several face lifts since then. In 2007, Pastor Rick now a San Antonio Policeman, once again came to the drawing board inspired by the Holy Spirit and the team added SHIELD'S official badge number, Psalms 91:1. The same time, a rocker stating Law Enforcement Ministries was added to the bottom of the cross of what you see today.

Too many to mention participated in the growth of this ministry, but we acknowledge and publicly thank them for their faithfulness, prayers, time and talents over the years. SHIELDS FOR CHRIST pledges to uphold the highest God given beliefs according to the Word of God in this ministry.
