I have retired from full time law enforcement, and am currently serving as the Senior Police Instructor of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Support Division. I am both proud, and humbled to have taught and influenced officers across the state. I see the Lord working in so many wonderful ways and it is truly a privilege to continue to integrate the Lord in all of my classes. God honors men who honor Him, and I count what I do for a living among the highest honors, because as I seek the Lord, He touches hearts of everyone I come into contact with.

I am also the current treasurer for S.F.C and I want to extend a warm invitation to all who seek the Lord, to consider joining SHIELDS FOR CHRIST Law Enforcement Ministries. LARRY'S TESTIMONY:

I began my calling to the Lord when I was in grade school. I grew up in a Catholic environment and attended Catholic school when I discovered that many of my questions about God and Jesus were not being answered to my satisfaction. I consulted with the priests and sisters at school and was told that he was not allowed to question the church. I became very discouraged and began my quest to find the answers. When I was only 12 years old and over the next few years that would follow, I sought the Lord by attending the different neighborhood churches, faiths and even synagogues. I asked questions of all of them until I found that the true answers were laid before me in my own Bible. My search was finally over when I found that Christian churches offered everything I was looking for in classes, fellowship, studies and worship. Then, I searched for a church that I could call “home”. In 1983 I began attending Revival Temple , which is now Destiny Church and I remain in fellowship there to this day.

A few years after I found balance in fellowship, and became grounded on a solid foundation, I met and formed a friendship with Rick Olivares at the Bexar County Courts. We had worked together in the Court Security Division. A short time after that initial meeting, I had an opportunity to meet Lenny Paccione, the President and Founder of SHIELDS FOR CHRIST, while working a “part time” in La Villita in downtown San Antonio . Lenny and I spoke for hours about the Lord and became good friends. Later that month Rick Olivares came to me and told me that a friend, working with the San Antonio Police Department, was looking for someone to design a logo for a Christian police organization. I was eager to help and within minutes the Holy Spirit was at work. The logo for Shields for Christ was born.

Not knowing that the Lord had inner-twined these three policemen and started them on a journey together that has lasted to this day is truly one of the multitude of miracles that our Father in heaven can do for anyone who asks Him into their heart.

For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39
